Autumn news 26.
I’ve had a busy and hot summer in the studio preparing for upcoming exhibitions and events this Autumn. I’ve been investigating new surfaces and formats for printmaking, carving into a variety of wooden boards, mixing up ink viscosity and exploring new ways to frame and hang work. I can’t wait to show you- this Autumn looks to be an exciting time!
Last in the series! Wandering no.7 is the penultimate print in the Wandering series that I began back in 2020 after I sought out a printing press to use at home- the mammoth press lived in our lounge for over a year before we moved house and had a studio built in the garden. Now framed, this print will be heading to my curated wall at Artworks Annual Exhibition at Blackthorpe Barn this September (see invitation below). The woodland imagery is rooted in the ancient landscape of Knettleshall Health. The print series organically evolved over time, reflecting changing moods and the ephemeral changes of light filtered through trees and foliage.

INVITATION TO ARTWORKS
BLACKTHORPE BARN
Back in March I was delighted to be invited to exhibit with Artworks. Artworks is a group of professional artists in East Anglia exhibiting two dimensional and sculptural work in the atmospheric Blackthorpe Barn in the heart of rural Suffolk. I’ve made new prints for this exhibition and I’m looking forward to sharing this body of work with you from 12th to 27th September 10am - 4pm in this thatched 16th century barn, along with 27 artists showcasing our latest works.
You are very welcome to join us to preview the work at our private view event on Friday 11th September 6pm - 8.30pm. Let me know you’ll be coming and I’ll send the invite across to you.
My ‘meet the artist’ day is on Thursday 24th September where I’ll be demonstrating ‘transferring ink, from drawing to print’. Do come along to see me working with drawing and print, and I have some exciting news on drawing and print in 2027 to share.
WAVY MARKET
FOLK SUFFOLK
On the last day of Artworks I’ll be up the road at Folk Suffolk with a range of framed and wrapped original prints and cards for the vibrant Wavy Market. I first joined them last November and had a wonderful time showing and selling my work, enjoying the lively atmosphere inside and out and conversing all things art and creativity. This is a one day event on Sunday 27th September 10am - 3pm.
PRINT EAST PRINT FAIR
THE ATHENAEUM
In its second year, the inaugural Print East Print Fair is coming to The Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds this October 10th 10.30am - 4.30pm. Last year this event was fabulously represented and attended by printmakers and print enthusiasts and this years event is looking just as immersive with live demonstrations and diverse displays of original prints and materials (and coffee and cake). I’ll be showcasing my work here again and I’m looking forward to showing and discussing new and recent limited edition prints with you and browsing everything print.
